A vibrant programme of engaging activities awaits visitors at Etihad Museum as Dubai Culture commemorates Hag Al Leila on 15 and 16 February. The event will feature Dukkan Al-Mathaf, a nostalgic recreation of a traditional baqala (grocery store) stocked with beloved childhood treats. Meanwhile, the Basma Choir will set the mood with a mix of traditional Hag Al Leila songs alongside Arabic classics and Khaleeji favourites.
The lineup of events includes a series of workshops, art performances, and film screenings, all delving into themes of identity and belonging. The Kutubna Cultural Center will host storytelling sessions to bring Emirati folktales to life, reflecting the values of community and togetherness. Attendees can also enjoy heritage games and experience ‘Eternal Gateways,’ an art installation by Emirati artist Abdulla Al Neyadi, inspired by intricate designs of traditional Emirati doors.
