Dubai Culture has announced a public programme accompanying the public art installation Resonance, created in collaboration with Alserkal Arts Foundation in Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood. This initiative falls under the Dubai Public Art Strategy. Scheduled to take place on 26 April, the event invites art enthusiasts to explore the aesthetic dimensions of Resonance, an artwork by graphic designer Maryam Namvar and architect Neda Salmanpour. Attendees can also delve into the district’s distinctive architectural elements and site-specific installations that enrich the local creative scene.
The agenda features a panel discussion titled ‘Perception Reimagined: Sound and Place,’ moderated by curator Munira Al Sayegh, and including Emirati sound artist Safeya Al Blooshi alongside Maryam Namvar and Neda Salmanpour, who will discuss their varied artistic practices. Meanwhile, Nigerian artist and curator Ose Ekore will lead the ‘Weightlessness Through Sound’ listening session. Additionally, the programme offers a multisensory audiovisual walk ‘In Reaction to Sound,’ designed to invite participants to examine the interplay of hearing and sight on the creative process by capturing experimental images of Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood that merge sound with innovative storytelling techniques.
