As part of her efforts to support creativity and creative talents, Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), visited Al Safa Art and Design Library on 3 August to oversee the progress on the programmes and activities being offered within the School of Life initiative and the summer camp through which a platform for developing life skills and refining the creative talents of all community members is presented.
During her visit, Badri was closely acquainted with the educational and entertainment environment that the library provides for children and adolescents participating in the School of Life activities, which were activated throughout a variety of workshops, including the Arabic Calligraphy workshop that was scheduled to take place that day. Dubai Culture launched the first phase of the School of Life project in Al Twar, Al Mankhool and Al Safa Art and Design libraries, which started on 1 June and will continue until the end of the year. The project aims to build the cultural, creative and life skills of children, adults and People of Determination in Dubai, whether citizens or residents.
Badri also observed some of the innovative pieces and crafts that camp participants of different ages completed during the 'Rug Mirror' workshop provided by the library as part of the summer camp, which started at the beginning of this month and will continue until 28 August. Badri expressed her admiration for the participants' creativity, which resulted in many rug mirrors with distinct designs and colour combinations that they had started working on over the past two days.
She also praised the efforts of the workshop supervisors, their professionalism, and their ability to provide guidance to the different age groups taking part in the workshops.
